1st-2nd Grade

God – The Bible is a book first and foremost about God, so in this grade we use the alphabet as a framework for teaching the attributes and character of God as biblical text is presented in a way that exalts God to show Him as the great and almighty God He is. This is a year for children to study the greatness and worth of God

 

The Bible – This year, children will embrace and treasure the Bible as God’s inspired and authoritative message for everyone. They will see how God has preserved His Word to transform people on every continent. As children cultivate an understanding of the purpose and power of God’s Word to guide their lives they are also introduced to God’s missionary heart as well.

 

God/His Word - Using different curriculum than the first hour, children will learn God is the most valuable Being in the entire universe. They will look at the LORD’S character and qualities as well as discover how God directs worship practices toward Him. The alternating year the children will study “I Stand in Awe” and discover how God reveals Himself with clarity and authority through His Word. This means that the Bible is precious and should be valued more than any other book. The goal is for children to develop a deep affection for the Bible and learn to treasure its Author.
