Fighter Verses

The Fighter Verse program is designed to encourage families to memorize God’s Word TOGETHER and to be well-armed with God’s indispensable weapon, “the Sword of the Spirit.” Why should we memorize the words of Scripture? Because God’s words are more than mere words, they are truths that help us grow and fight the fight of faith.

 

It is easy to read the Bible or hear a sermon or Sunday School lesson and walk away unchanged, but if families have treasured God’s word by memorizing it, the Holy Spirit can continually bring it to mind. Our children are not always with us, but if the word of God dwells richly in them, they will have wise counsel with them at all times.

 

The plan is simple for those who want to participate. We will memorize one Scripture together each month. This means families will work together on the same verse at breakfast, in the car going to school, at bedtime, or whenever the schedule best fits. With everyone working on the same verse throughout the month, families can say it together, review it together, pray it together, and talk about the truths of that verse throughout the month. There will be a simple, non-stressful reporting system done through the children’s Sunday School classes for those families who participate.
